I’m one day old today

Thanks to all the well wishers it’s nice to see that I have such nice family and friends. I’m just hanging out today, I think I’ll eat and sleep, then eat some more. Not a bad life really. Mom's pretty cool when I get fussy, Dad spends a lot in front of the computer writing stuff – maybe he should look up a web site on how to swaddle! He’s trying but does not quite have the nurses’ touch yet. Ooo, I’m hungry, or sleepy I’m nor sure which, got to go.

William Archer Stetic (AKA baby Stelnyk) Arives

Things started slowing happening on Wednesday afternoon and we got moving to the hospital around 3:00 pm on Thursday. We are proud to announce that at 4:39 am on Friday July 30, 2004, Weighting at a 7 lb 12 oz, William Archer Stetic (Will for short) joined our family and the world. Mama and baby are doing great (and dad is still standing, albeit a little tired). See some pictures of Will and we'll try to get some more posted. I'll also work on Mom, who's a much better writer, to do some blogging.

Small Planet

A handy service called Small Planet offers diaper composting service. They will also deliver supplies like diapers and such. Let's see how it works out.

Still Waiting

Ah ... more sitting around.  Just a little progress for Baby Stelnyk.  Went to the hospital last night just to check things out since it was 10 since the water broke.  Everything checked out fine and they sent us home for a "good" nights sleep as we figured they would.   Got told we would get a call to come in around 1:00 on Thursday if things had not progressed.

Woke up this morning to a snooze alarm of contractions every ten min.  Mom-to-be is a fighter and was able to go back to sleep between each one.  Spent some time walking around the neighborhood, making some snacks for the hospital stay and got a shout out on Rogers Daytime from a "cranky" host.

Baby Stelnyk On the Way

Well the day is finally here.  Baby Stelnyk is on its way, nothing like sitting around waiting for the main event.  It's weird that all the big events in your life are planned for an exact day, first day of school, drivers license test, graduation, wedding day.  Then when it come to having a kid there is no predictability at all.  Here we are sitting on the couch watching Sex in the City a day after our due date wondering if we might ever get to go to the hospital.  None the less, is all very exciting!  Here's hopping for an "easy" birth, and a healthy baby.
